Emporia Country Club is located in southern Virginia with easy access (1 mile) from Interstate 95 via exit 17. The course is also located 5 miles north of the city of Emporia, Virginia, which lies at the crossroads of I-95 and US-58, the major east/west artery of south-side Virginia. There are numerous lodging choices and restaurants available in Emporia, and as such it presents itself as a centralized stopover location when traveling north or south along the I-95 corridor.

Scorecard
The original layout of the course was designed by Fred Findlay, a renowned golf architect of the era, who in his day designed over 50 golf courses in the state of Virginia alone. The course, with bent grass greens and bermuda fairways, takes you through beautiful rolling terrain and tall southern pines that are the identifying characteristics of the region. Design and construction was accomplished in the mold of other famous courses of the Sand Hills region with fairways that assist and greens that provide the golfer with a firm but fair challenge.
